Messy Fun and a Tub

I took Grady to "Creative Hands" the other night. It is an event at his school where the kids do all sorts of messy art projects and activities. He loved it last year, so he was SUPER excited about it this year. When I let him out of the car he went running as fast as he could into the area where they were having it. He had a blast again this year, but the cutest thing was just how much fun he had visiting with everyone - friends, teachers, parents - EVERYone. He ran around chatting everyone up, and at the end he gave out hugs to 1/2 the place, I swear. He is SO SO social and just come alive at events like that.

OK, so not REAL walking yet, but baby A sure is doing well getting around with his walker now. He has also stood on his own for a few seconds several times. He gets immensely proud when he does either of these things.

Playtime!

Things have been good around here - just busy since Anson's first birthday party is a week from today! Then we will celebrate on his actual birthday (also G's last day of school) and then be heading to Mexico for a wedding. Lots going on! But amidst the planning we have found lots of time to enjoy the nice weather and have some outdoor fun.

Then we put Grady to work! Here he is painting the playhouse with Dada. He LOOOVED painting. This project has been going on for over a year! It is now "done" enough to play in, but we are finally putting the finishing touches on it! I will post lots of pictures of our masterpiece once it is complete, but here they are working on it...







While they painted, I took Anson to the park. He loves the swings. I had trouble capturing his smile though.





The pool was supposed to open last Sunday so we got all suited up and ready, only to roll down there and realize it was still closed. So we set up some water fun in our yard instead. It actually opened yesterday though, so we'll probably be there this weekend.

Poor Anson did have an ear infection this week. We think it was left over from weeks ago when he had one. Poor guy had been fussier than normal for weeks (though I am impressed he still slept pretty well). He's finally back to himself, thank goodness!
