Splashy Fun
Sometimes it it just too hard to pack up three small children and all of their snacks, towels, toys, and sunscreen in order to go to the pool. Even if the pools is only 6 doors down. Some days it is better to just pull out the good old baby pool...

Kindergarten Graduation
On Monday, June 3, 2013, Grady graduated from kindergarten. It was a big deal at Five Oaks Montessori. The kids each recited a memorized poem that represented something about them or their interests (Grady's was the longest, I was told, and entitled "To Make a Garden"). Grady's performance was flawless! They also had a cool "bridging ceremony" where each kindergartner had a 1st grader lead them across a bridge to represent them moving to the next level. Also, as each child received their diploma, their teacher read a quote that sort of represented them. Grady's was wisdom, and though some of the quotes were repeated, he was the only one to get that special quote:
Wisdom
Guiding your way,
Wisdom will lead you through knowledge to understanding.
May you hear its soft voice.
After the ceremony there was a nice reception, we got a great portfolio of G's work from the year, and we were able to visit with friends and teachers. He also got many compliments on his performance!
