A visit from Grandpa Jim

Grandpa Jim and Carolyn came to visit this past weekend. They met Anson for the first time and visited with Grady for a bit. We just hung out at home, though Grady did show off his swimming skills at the pool before they had to leave. Grady also played some soccer in his new (adorable!) soccer uniform from Gaga and Grandpa Carl. Anson has been smiling like crazy. He seems to especially love it when I sing - that probably won't last long ;)

I also have to add that Grady is now in a "Big Boy Bed" (really just the convertible toddler bed). Many of you will think it is insane that this just happened, but it was really just Grady's decision. I figure that he should be sleeping in a place where he feels safe and comfortable. He was so against making the switch that we just didn't push it. I think that most children will show you when they are ready for things, and he showed us that it was time. Now he is doing a great job staying put, even for nap time (which is often "quiet time"). He's even getting up to use the potty and going right back to bed. We are very proud of him for making such a big change at a time when everything else has been different too. Good job G!
