Camping at the Lake

The week before Easter was Spring Break for the kids.  We decided it would be a great time to take another trip in the camper.  This time we headed to Lake Murray, outside of Columbia.  We had a lakefront spot, and the weather was very warm and sunny.  It was a really fun place, and I am sure we will return.

As soon as we got there the kids had to get in the water!  I was unprepared for such enthusiasm.

This was our campsite - such a great location

Fishing right from our campsite on the first morning!

Then we took a short hike where there were ruins of the home of the man the park is named after

After that hike I took Grady on a long hike (over 2 miles) on his own

He found a snake and loved it

The lake is huge and filled with islands - some are odd (one has goats roaming on it).  We found our own and named it.

Grady also wanted to climb this tree

That night we had s'mores - Camille's first time!

It was so cute that it required a flip book!

Happy Campers!
