Gaga and Grandpa Come to Visit

During the second half of the boys' winter break Gaga and Grandpa came to visit from Florida.  We had a great time, with many fun adventures.  The first evening was Gaga's birthday, and we celebrated with a cake.  In the morning, we headed to the children's museum in Columbia.

They love the fire station exhibit

And look who was there - a real fireman!  Anson was in heaven!

Grady really enjoyed the cafe

The farm was also a hit - here is Anson in the milking area

There is a giant boy you can climb inside!

Dr. Grady loved being a vet

Anson also enjoyed it

And Anson got to "drive" a real car!

The next day we headed to the Pavilion, where the kids could play with "snow", ice skate, and use the very nice bounce house.

Grady really enjoyed ice skating

The next day Grady went fishing with everyone (Gaga and Grandpa bought him a fishing pole!) while I took Anson to his friend Frankie's birthday party.

Anson, the birthday boy, and another friend

We all met up for dinner later.  Anson had a new look:)

On Sunday we headed to Devil's Fork Sate Park for some hiking on a beautiful day.

With Lake Jocassee behind us

She said she was fishing like Grady

On the trail

With Gaga and Grandpa, having a snack break

At a nice little waterfall

And another - there were quite a few!

It was beautiful!

It was a wonderful end to a great visit from Gaga and Grandpa!  Thanks for coming!

A warm up for Winter Break

After the snow we got about a week of nice weather, with even a few really warm days, around 70.  The boys also had winter break, so it was a nice time to get out an do some fun things.

Friday before break Grady had a special movie after school, so the little guys had pops and played at the playground

On Monday of break we were going to play at the new trampoline place in town, but it was unexpectedly closed for cleaning, so we made a last-minute decision to head to the art place for open art time.  You can paint on anything at this place and the kids had a blast!

Anson started a masterpiece on their wall

Grady also really wanted to paint the wall

Miss Camille opted for paper

Stamping

Things started to get REALLY messy with the shaving cream!

Anson painted anything that wasn't paper :)

He did a beautiful job on this painting on the wall.  It's a roller coaster!

Then we headed outside to paint the trees, bushes, and everything else in sight!

Camille painted their sign!

It was really warm that afternoon!

The next day we went to the trampoline place in the morning, which was so much fun!  It was too tough to get pictures though.  In the afternoon we did some play dough.

And we did some "letter bugs" with Anson, who is learning his lowercase letters

Finally, we enjoyed a little ice cream, while we waited for Gaga and Grandpa to arrive

They came to stay for several days and we had some really fun adventures.  Stay tuned for photos from their trip!
