Christmas Parade

The same day as breakfast with Santa, we decided we would head downtown and check out the Greenville Christmas Parade.  We have never been to the big parade (only the smaller Mauldin and Simpsonville ones) so we figured it was time we went!

The parade was really good with real floats, several marching bands (Anson loved the marching bands), and lots of dancers.  We got a great spot, right at the beginning of the parade, where all of the dance groups would stop and do their full performances.  It was perfect!  It was also a very mild evening, so there were no worries about getting chilly.

Being silly while they waited

The police and fire trucks led the way!

A super cute float!

The Children's Museum float!

It was a really magical time with the kids.  One of those moments you just savor and realize that THIS is what Christmas is all about - spending time with family and just enjoying all the excitement that the season offers.

Breakfast with Santa

It has become a tradition for us to go to breakfast with Santa at the country club with our neighborhood.  The food is yummy, the kids can see friends, and they get a nice visit with Santa.

When we arrived, we got a few nice photos downstairs

Then we headed upstairs for the festivities!

First, Grady and Camille worked on letters to Santa

While Anson sipped juice

Then the boys spotted Santa!

A little later it was our turn for a visit!

At the end Anson and Grady requested (and were granted) another visit with Santa

Super fun time!

Carrots!

Grady is officially a farmer.  He grows things to eat year-round.  We made an amazing carrot cake with these and tons are still growing!

This one looked like legs!

Let's see what he grows next!
